Disability Standards for Education
A package of e-learning lessons on the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA), with a focus on the Disability Standards for Education 2005 (the Standards), has been developed to provide professional learning for all NSW Public School's staff.
You will be introduced to different students, scenarios and decision-making that you may encounter in your work. The aim is to help you understand and fulfil your obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, which includes fair access to education and training for students with disabilities.
The e-learning modules are located on the University of Canberra website and you are required to complete a quick registration.
The course has two parts: part one (lessons 1-3) and part two (lessons 4-6). A certificate of completion is available upon completion of each module. There are course modules available to support all staff, depending upon their role.
